Schaller Automation has opened a new training and education centre at the headquarters in Blieskastel. With this project, Schaller Automation reacts to the increasing training demand from customers and users of safety systems in the field of large diesel engines.
The complex systems developed and produced in Blieskastel directly contribute to the safety of large diesel, gas and dual fuel engines in power stations and on ships. The products feature absolute reliability and worldwide availability as well as certification through all globally relevant classification bodies. The greatest source of error in technical systems is still the human factor, though. That is why Schaller Automation has always placed great importance on qualification and training for the users of these systems. Developers and designers from engine manufacturers, who in addition to shipping companies and power station companies are customers of Schaller Automation, should also be made aware of the special risks of larger engines and familiarised with the available safety systems even before the development work.
Individual theoretical and practical training courses are therefore offered for customers and employees as well as for service and sales partners from all over the world, carried out centrally at the Schaller Automation headquarters. The training courses focus on product know-how, particularly in the field of service and maintenance of the equipment. The new training rooms are equipped with original installations as they can be found in real applications on large diesel, gas and dual fuel engines in power stations and on ships. In addition to state-of-the-art training equipment, the training and education centre also offers a newly designed lounge area for the participants. „When we designed the rooms, providing the preconditions for focused and efficient learning was just as important to us as having a comfortable atmosphere where the participants – some of whom come to us from Asia and South America – can relax“, explains Michael Theobald, Manager Business Development and responsible for the training and education centre.
