The delivery ceremony of the 58.7 m AHTS vessel YX3157 from Yuexin shipyard for Martens Marine, Singapore, was held at the end of October, according to a statement released by Yuexin Ocean Engineering.
Designed by Khiam Chuan Marine (KCM) in Singapore, the vessel is capable of carrying 42 men, 475м3 of fuel oil, 230м3 of fresh water, 187м3 of dry bulk and 250м3 of mud. In addition, YX3157 achieves a bollard pull of 67.2 tonnes and a speed of 13.51 knots.
Power is provided by a twin Caterpillar main engines, each rated 1920kw at 1600rpm per minute, which in turn drive a pair of ZF controllable pitch propellers. The electrical power is supplied by two 350KW Caterpillar diesel-driven generators with a C4.4 CAT emergency generator. Manoeuvrability is enhanced by twin 8T Kawasaki bow thrusters.
YX3157 is the first of four 58.7m AHTS vessels of the same design and equipment being built by Yuexin shipyard for Martens Marine after a contract was signed between the two companies in March of last year.
The Chinese Shipbuilding Company Ltd. has so far delivered in total more than 20 AHTS vessels of a similar series.
